You Will Need:
8 apples
1/3 cup sugar
¼ teaspoon cinnamon (or more, depending on your preference)
1/3 cup water
Cutting board, knife, pot, bowl, potato masher
Directions:
Peel and core apples. Cut apples into smaller cubes and have your child put them into the pot. Then, ask her to measure and add sugar, cinnamon, and water. Put the pot on the stove and heat over medium heat until apples are tender. Transfer to a bowl and let cool. You’re your child mash them with the potato masher until mixture reaches a creamy consistency.
Tip:
If your child wants to help cut the apple cubes, she can use a plastic knife while you use a sharper one. Encourage your child to try identifying the numbers on each measuring utensil.
