Sheets of paper, stapler or tape
Introduce the word “origami” and explain what it is. With your child, fold a rectangular piece of paper accordion style, with the folds running parallel to the shorter sides of the paper. Each fold should be approximately ¼ to 1 inch, depending on the size of the paper. Then, tape or staple the folds all together at the bottom and fan out the top.
Origami is a wonderful rainy day activity; having a flat surface to fold on makes it easier.
