You Will Need:
Paper bags or storage boxes, descriptive labels that say things like, "Things with wheels," "People," "Animals," etc.
Directions:
Place an appropriate label on each storage container and introduce them to your child, pointing out which one is which. When it is time to clean up, ask your child to put toys in the appropriate containers. While your child is trying to decide which container to put a toy in, talk about its properties. Say things like, “Does a cow have wheels?”; “What needs to go in this bag?”; “What is different about these toys?”; “Here is another car, where does it go?”
Tip:
Once your child recognizes each container and knows what goes in it, this activity can become more challenging if you use bags instead of the normal storage containers.
