We offer a dynamic summer camp program for children ages 6-12. Our camp provides children with fun opportunities to explore, create, and enjoy the wonders of the season. Each weekly session provides a unique thematic program so children can experience a variety of topics in depth. Cloud Gazing

You Will Need:

A blanket, a day with some fluffy clouds, and the book It Looked Like Spilt Milk

Directions:

Lie on your back with your child and gaze at the sky. Babies will enjoy the sensations of the wind, leaves rustling, and the connection with you. Toddlers and preschoolers will enjoy naming the clouds based on what they look like. You may need to start this activity by pointing out shapes and body parts like ears, noses, wings, etc. in the clouds. Children may become curious about why there are so many different shapes, why they change, where they go when they disappear, etc. To prepare for these questions or to research after a gazing session, visit www.window.ucar.edu.

Tip:

Point out everything you see and hear while lying quietly: birds, airplanes, bugs, colors, etc.
