Frequently Asked Questions

How can I learn more about the World at Their Fingertips Curriculum?

We welcome your visit and the opportunity to share more about a Bright Horizons education. Our administration team is available to discuss our school, to answer any questions you have, and to arrange a convenient time to meet with you. We encourage you to visit our school to see the learning and teaching in action. We carefully schedule these visits to ensure that the children’s learning is not disrupted.

What are the educational goals of a Bright Horizons School?

Bright Horizons teachers strive to provide the highest-quality curriculum and learning environment for each individual child. Every member of our community is valued for their distinctive abilities, talents, and personalities. We embrace diversity in all its forms at all levels of the Bright Horizons family.

The goals of a Bright Horizons School are to:

  • Stimulate the development of the total child: emotional, social, physical, and academic
  • Create a nurturing and accepting environment in which each child feels secure, respected, and loved
  • Provide an enriched, stimulating educational setting with safe limits in which each child is an active explorer
  • Encourage each child to become self-directed and independent
  • Provide a framework of conscious discipline
  • Inspire creativity and the development of a positive self-image in each student
  • Establish a cross-cultural environment and introduce concepts of global peace
What if I’d like to enroll but the school doesn’t currently have space available?

Our goal is to accommodate families as soon as space allows. We suggest you register with up to three Bright Horizons locations, including the school you are most interested in. By registering, you are confirming your strong interest in all three schools. You will be immediately added to our wait list and will be offered a space as soon as one becomes available. While waiting for a space to become available at your first- choice location, many families will choose to enroll at their second or third choice temporarily until space becomes available at the school they are most interested in. In many schools, a child currently enrolled at a Bright Horizons School has priority over the general community, so enrolling at another location will not only allow your child to begin learning, but will also give you additional priority in getting into your first preference school.

How can I obtain information about tuition?

Our tuition is dependent upon your child’s age, developmental level, and the location of the school you have chosen. We also recommend that you visit our school for an in-depth conversation with a member of our administration team, so we can help discuss the best options for your family and child. Visiting is also the best way for you to learn about our school community and to determine if a Bright Horizons education is right for you and your child.

Please contact our school to learn more.

Are part time schedules available?

We do offer regular part time options at some schools and regular drop-in care at other schools where space is available. Please contact us for more details.

Can I visit my child at school anytime I’d like?

Bright Horizons has an open door policy. However, to avoid disrupting lessons in the classrooms, we do ask that you contact us in advance to arrange the best time to visit. We also recommend talking with your classroom teacher about how we can best accommodate you. We strive for building partnerships with parents that will best meet the needs of your child and family.

Are your teachers certified? What on-going professional development do you provide for your faculty?

Teachers of the World at Their Fingertips approach undergo very specific education and training. Bright Horizons teachers prepare and adapt the environment to match children's readiness and needs, both for each age group and for each individual child. Additionally, they are trained to be keen observers of children in order to sequence and optimize lessons or activities to make the most of learning moments.

Bright Horizons is dedicated to providing highly qualified and experienced early educators. Every member of our community is valued for their distinctive abilities, talents, and personalities. We also provide extensive on-going professional development for all faculty members through workshops, webinars, peer-to-peer interaction and much more.

Please visit Our Faculty page for specifics about our administrators and teachers and contact us for further details.

Are all faculty trained in CPR and First Aid?

All Bright Horizons faculty members are trained regularly in CPR /First Aid and Universal Precautions, even if not required by the state. You can feel confident that your child is safe and receiving the best care possible at our school.

What is Bright Horizons' process on checking the background of their employees?
